Editor in Chief: Briana Aguilar

As a little girl, I pictured myself as Veterinarian or a Marine biologist, but now I have a different mindset.  A 16-year-old, girl has realized that it’s probably not the best idea.

When Sophomore year approached I decided to take Journalism. It was probably the best decision I made. My first year as a reporter went well, but I really wanted to have a higher position. For example, Editor-n-Chief. I opened up much more because of this class. The interviewing helped. At some point, I would definitely run out of ideas, but now I know my references.

Now as a Junior I have reached my goal as becoming Editor-in-Chief.

Managing Editors: Edgar Hernandez, Sayra Ramos

The school newspaper has quickly become an important part of my life. My name is Sayra Ramos; I am both a senior at Atrisco and managing editor of my school newspaper. According to my friends and my family, I am also a fiercely independent know-it-all. I value learning and education above all. The paper gives me a way to expand my knowledge and share it with others. The most important thing to know however, is that I love to write. With journalism, I am able to express myself through writing and I get to have an influence on the world around me. I hope the school newspaper serves as the eyes and ears of our school. My goal for the paper is simply that it delivers the truth. The job of a journalist is to present the news in an honest way. As managing editor, I will make it my job to do just that. I hope all of the writers for the paper can do our school justice. It is important that we all work together to inform our fellow classmates of the ever-changing world around us.

My name is Edgar Hernandez, and I am a dedicated leader. To many, I am a dear friend and a reliable person. Most adults tend to describe me as a mature young adult who is very responsible. Working as a managing editor has become one of my top responsibilities. As I edit papers, I am also improving my vocabulary and writing. To ensure the success of the paper, I will be diligent with all of my work. The school newspaper has become a top priority, and it allows me to express myself through writing. One of my goals for the newspaper is to have people read and enjoy every article. This goal is complicated, but with an abundant  effort it can be achieved. I take a vow to always put in the best effort and come ready to work

Determination, hard work, and goal setting, life is a journey in which people discover their selves and experience reality in a way that will shape them to who they will become. My name is Matthew Pascual Castillo, I go by many names, Matt, Matty, Matthew Paul, the list goes on. Growing up I always enjoyed music, music has been a big influence in my life, from the way I dress, to my everyday vocabulary and has also made many friendships along the way. I love poetry, which is one of the reasons I chose to be Arts and Entertainment manager. I feel like I was the best choice for this because as a Junior I’ve experienced more, my writing skills are more complex ,and I am able to analyze articles more in depth and can form a strong based opinion on it. My goals as the Arts and Entertainment manger are to bring the most exciting and well written stories to Atrisco. I plan to form a voice for those who don’t have one and will do so on my journey throughout the year.

Arts & Entertainment: Matthew Mateo & Emily Jaramillo

As a selected editor for this category in the newspaper, my view for this section is well-written pieces that have both easy to follow content and eye catching topics. For me, writing has always been more figurative since I've been doing spoken word for almost four years. I tend to see the side that is less literal. However touching on different styles of poetry and eventually styles of writing has led me to journalism. I think reporting on real time and seeing the literal side of news stories is just as powerful and I’m excited to continue on this path because, so far, I’ve been enjoying it.

Sports Editor: Mateo McCartney

It's a very simple reason why I wanted to become sports editor. Sports have always been a big part of my life. Every holiday, every sunday, and it helps start a lot of friendships. Plus, I already know almost everything i can about sports so it's easy and nothing to uncomfortable. I'm basically just writing what i see and talk about every single day.

I’m a 16 year old Sophomore at Atrisco and someday want to become a journalist for ESPN or NFL. I want to be so far up and respected to become an announcer for games. This pays a lot of money for doing something that I love. With the money and the constant travels, I can be a great dad for my kids and give them a childhood that every kid could only dream of.

I also really want a say in certain rulings and games that come out. I want a voice that not only people listen to, but also respect very much. I want my family and friends see and hear me every time i work and for them and other people to know that i have made it.

Being the design editor I thought it would be easier... Nope it is so challenging but I like a challenge. But the website is going along great with two friends and now I feel like my computer skills are improved.
