Tom Petty: Born to Rock

By Dylan Graves

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers first became famous in the 1970s. Their 1976 debut had a minor hit, “Breakdown”, but it was when Petty’s third album, “Damn the Torpedoes”, released in 1980 when the band became mainstream. That same album won critical raves, went platinum and had the hits “Don't Do Me Like That” and “refugee”. Petty sang with Stevie Nicks that same year on her hit “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.” That duet was the start of many collaborations with Petty and other artists.

Nature Gone Mad

By: Briana Aguilar

Lately all over the world Nature has shocked us all, with the hurricanes, earthquakes and who knows what can happen in the next few days or even years.

People began to drown, crushed by trees and died during power outages.  The people of Houston were not so prepared for this hurricane. Not so many were people able to evacuate. This lead to people no longer having homes, family loss and also pets. As of today, people are still left without a home and family.

In my article I decided that I should go around asking students about their feelings on the assembly: Did they enjoy it, if no then why not ? I also wanted to know what would they change to approve our assemblies? What things can they do to get the students attention and be happy to go to our AHA assemblies. When I went around the AHA campus, I asked a few students these questions and this is how they responded….

In this day and age, fast food restaurants around the world have revolutionized the way people socialize and eat by being a prime source for a quick and simple meal at anytime. With a majority of the population going to work for long hours, going home extremely tired, then repeating the process the next day, there isn’t much time to conduct a decent home meal or go to a five star restaurant when lunch time hits. These moments are when fast food restaurants become extremely useful in the eyes of busy people. Although fast food establishments are well known for being unhealthy, the positive outcomes of these establishments outweigh the negative ones.
